Catherine ran across Triceratops Trail while surfing the web. Since it’s dinos, FREE, and only about 45 minutes away, we had to go check it out. It’s a nice little hike if you’re in the area, although not a good place for those with mobility issues. So take a look at our slideshow and enjoy.
In the pits!
Walk down into the old clay mine to see dinosaur footprints and other prehistoric goodies saved in the stone walls.
Mining Relics
There are a few pieces of old mining equipment decorating the landscape.
Walking on walls.
These vertical walls of stone use to be a beach until the Rockies turned them on end.
Bidding you a frond farewell!
Towards the end of the trail you can see some plant fossils.
